Young mother faces holidays out of work

  • Follow Metro

A young mother lost her job three weeks ago and now faces the holidays out of work.

“I am behind in my bills,” she writes, “and afraid I will lose everything that I have worked so hard for while waiting for unemployment and another job.

“This is my daughter’s first Christmas that she actually understands about Santa. I would love to be able to give her just one gift and see her happy on Christmas morning. Please help me make her Christmas a happy one.”

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 81 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $115,000 that helped children and families across the region.
