“It’s really hard at Christmas and the holidays,” she writes. “I don’t have any extra money left over after the necessities. It would be nice to be able to get a nice warm sweater, bedroom shoes and a throw. I would be grateful for anything.”
The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 81 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $115,000 that helped children and families across the region.
