A 53-year-old disabled man living at the Salvation Army says he doesn’t want to ask others for help, but is not sure what else to do.

“Many days I am without food or clothing,” he writes. “My medicine has been left at the drug store, because I’m not able to pay for it.

“God bless you, if you can help and please pray for me.”

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 81 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $115,000 that helped children and families across the region.
