The Augusta stop on the second leg of their Own The Night tour was announced Monday by the group’s publicity company, The Green Room.
The venue and the date tickets go on sale was not announced, but it is expected the trio will return to James Brown Arena. Their concert in November of last year in the arena sold out in seven minutes.
“This is the tour we’ve always dreamed of putting together,” said native Augustan Charles Kelley in the media release.
“We got to help design the stage and really collaborate on new production ideas, and now we’re just really trying to hone in on the perfect set list to give the fans a cool mix of hits and some of their favorite songs from the new record.”
Opening for them on the second leg of their tour will be country artist Darius Rucker and husband-wife duo Thompson Square. Both acts have been in Augusta in the past year.
Lady A consists of Kelley and Dave Haywood, who grew up in the West Lake subdivision in Martinez, as well as Hillary Scott, of Nashville, Tenn.
They will be back in the area Oct. 28 for the dedication of the new Columbia County amphitheater in their honor.
They also are scheduled with their current tour to perform in the Macon (Ga.) Centreplex on Nov. 12 and in the Savannah (Ga.) Civic Center on Nov. 27.
The 2011 tour ends Dec. 18 in Morgantown, W.Va., with the group kicking off its 2012 tour on Jan. 27 in Tulsa, Okla.
Own The Night, the trio’s third CD, had its debut in the No. 1 spot on Billboard magazine’s Top 200 chart of all kinds of albums.
The group’s current single off that album, We Owned The Night, follows the album’s first single release, Just A Kiss, which became the trio’s fifth No. 1 single hit.
Kelley, Haywood and Scott will be performing on the Country Music Association awards show airing live on ABC on Nov. 9.
