The Gregg-Graniteville Library at the University of South Carolina Aiken will soon receive a 224-piece book collection of major works in the field of science and the human spirit as a recipient of an International Society for Science and Religion award, the university announced.

The collection, estimated in value at $13,440, will provide a comprehensive foundation for study, teaching and research in science, religion and related fields.

The books should be delivered in the next few weeks.

“The impact that the ISSR Library collection will have on our campus community will be immense, and the effect that it will have on the critical thinking skills of our students could be immeasurable,” said USC Aiken Library Director Jane Tuten. “Not only will it provide support for courses currently taught, but it can provide the foundation for new proposals.”
