The deadline for the Porter Fleming Literary Competition has been extended to July 22, according to a release.
Organized by the Morris Museum of Art, the Porter Fleming Literary Competition has four categories -- fiction, nonfiction, poetry and one-act play - and gives $7,000 in cash awards.
The deadline has been extended because some groups of intended recipients did not receive brochures about the competition that were mailed a few weeks ago, according to an e-mail. Winners will participate in a special literary program and awards ceremony during the Westobou Festival on Oct. 1.
Can anyone enter or is it only for certain groups, etc.? Can you get a brochure in email? I think it would be cool if internet poster, Riverman, won.
It's open to writers age 18 & older, living in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina & North Carolina. E-mail brenda.hall@themorris.org for a brochure or call 706-724-7501.
