THIS IS A RANT. I went to a funeral Monday and was appalled at what I witnessed. The preacher said very little about the deceased but went on and on about how he used to be a big time gambler, with two body guards, drove an expensive Cadillac, carried a .357 Magnum strapped to his leg. He also lived in a mansion. Then at the end of the service, he had the audacity to pass out CDs about himself. UNBELIEVABLE!
JOHN BOEHNER writes about "Getting Government Out Of The Way Of Job Creators." Boehner has been in D.C. for 20 years. Obama and the Dems are the main present problem, but career politicians are the overall problem. George Washington didn't work in D.C. for 20 years. It's time we cleaned house, all three: House, Senate, White House.
I DON'T KNOW what it will take for commissioners to get it through their thick skulls that we are not interested in paying millions of dollars for another ballpark. The one we have is fine. We are in debt and can barely afford the basics; a ballpark is unnecessary at this time. I hope commissioners are listening.
LET ME GET this right. A $100 drug test. A million people on temporary assistance. That's $100 million. Who do you think's paying that? Government. Me.
I'M AN EMPLOYEE at Augusta State Medical Prison. I just want to say on behalf of our state institution here, our inmates are well taken care of. They have everything they need to sustain their life in comfort. They have all the food they need, they have all the hygiene products they need, they have all the medical care they need. They need nothing from the outside world. Now, my rant is we have a lot of people, especially some very well meaning Christian ministries and Christian people, that send in every month out there tons of food, hygiene products, all kinds of things for these guys to have that they really don't need at all and I would encourage these people to send them to the soup kitchens or to the food banks that really are in desperate need.
THIS IS A RANT to the Augusta Commission. If Cal Ripkin wants a new ballpark, let him build it. The one we have is just fine. If we need more seats, then build them around the outfield wall.
I SEE THE Augusta-Richmond County human resources director is leaving. I guess he saw the light with all the finger pointing going on.
THANKS TO THE person who found my wallet in McDonald's in the MCG Children's Hospital. Your honesty is deeply appreciated and you are in my prayers!
THE RICHMOND education board says it can save $600,000 a year by laying off eight full-time workers. If the system can work without those eight jobs, it's clear those jobs were never essential in the first place, yet they pay $75,000 a year -- over five times what many Americans live just fine on. Maniacs have taken over government at every level.
