Audubon Society will offer river program

A program titled "A Contem­porary Understanding of the Sa­vannah River" will be offered at 7 p.m. Thursday during the Augusta-Aiken Audubon Society's meeting at North Augusta Community Center on Brookside Avenue. The public is welcome.

Oscar Flite, the research director of the Southeastern Nat­u­ral Sciences Academy, will discuss the geology, physics, chemistry and biology of the river.

The academy has been conducting detailed studies of the river for six years.
