Entries called for in fine art competition

The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art has announced a call for entries for the 2011 A Sense of Place fine art competition.

The competition is open to artists throughout the United States who are 18 or older. Works must be original, completed after May 31 , 2009, and not have been previously exhibited at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art.

Entries will be accepted for painting, drawing, mixed media, printmaking, photography, ceramics and sculpture.

Three cash prizes will be awarded, including a $750 Best of Show Award and two $500 Juror's Awards.

Entries must be received by June 3.
