A RAVE FOR the kind people who helped me after I fell outside North Augusta Lowes on Tuesday at lunchtime. Also for the staff on the fifth floor at University Hospital, especially Imeldia, Jan and Sue.
THIS MESSAGE GOES out to The Augusta Chronicle editorial page. People who describe themselves as Republican, conservative, Democrat, liberal. I do not want to live in your world because you see things one way. I don't want to be in a country where everybody thinks the same. I want people to sit down and discuss the issues. Then make a compromise and come up with the best decision. But when you pigeonhole yourself, then you put yourself in a box. That is not what I want for this country.
THIS IS A RANT to the Thursday rant that called our current president a spineless, worthless, no-good-for-nothing Socialist Communist president regarding what's going on in Egypt and foreign aid. I guess if you're going to call him that, you're going to have to call both Bushes, Clinton, Reagan and every president over the last 30 years the same thing, because they're the ones who started the foreign aid that's continuing, and this problem did not just start. So let's be fair here.
I PUT ASIDE my Democratic unionist philosophy for a moment. Now it's back for good. Good being the operative word here. Republicans want to bust unions because unions support Democrats. Period.
REGARDING BICYCLISTS on the streets. If they want to ride and everything, why don't they have to buy a license or insurance just like we do, like the man in the paper says. And what about the law that says no non-motorized vehicles allowed. What has happened to that law?
NOW Y'ALL DON'T have to worry about those fellas from that church in Kansas. The Partiot Guard Riders are there to make sure everyone has their rights protected without interfering with anyone's First Amendment right.
A BIG RAVE for the Roller Derby girls and a big rant to the curmudgeons who don't understand it. I've attended most of the home games and these ladies are truly athletes, and it's a fun, family-friendly environment. In fact, most games are sellouts.
I BELIEVE THE most disheartening realization about this administration is that in 2013 the new president will have to use the first 100 days of her term straightening out the mess.
What could be better than a lady Speaker than a Lady President?

Did the 2nd ranter ever question Kennedy's or Clinton's loyalty to country? Loyalty to wives does not equate to loyalty to country and the Democrats gave us John Kennedy and Bill Clinton to prove it. Yes, I'm sure there are others, including some Republicans. I'm just not that familiar with that aspect of history. But Kennedy and Clinton are two well known cases that jump out and rebut ranter #2's innuendo. You could not find a more educated, experienced person to be a candidate than Newt. You might not like his politics but his loyalty to country is certainly not in question.
I agree with 1 and 5. It's not going to happen as long as AC supports those who trash our President and support those who bully on here.
To rant 3. I would like to sit down and compromise with the entitlement crowd. Give them a rake, broom, trash bags and wheelborows. Go to all the parks, streets, public housing and any place that needs cleaning up and earn the money they get from the taxpayer. What is wrong with that? Novel idea to them-earn your way. I and many others then would not feel so bad about our tax money going to support you because you would then be contributing instead of taking. Such dreams of me.
And cudo's to officer Billy Jones in Harrisburg. Your are welcomed there by all the law abiding residents.

1) The absolute last thing the AC will do is allow the Spirit's liberal thinkers to participate in posting on the AC RnR's...honestly, I don't think the Metro's writers would want to give it their time.
2) Newt is not a patriot but an abusive war-mongering maniac who wants to be back in control...I would not give him any more time than that I spent writing this statement about him. Like every man and woman on God's green Earth, he has flawed character and anyone who doesn't see it is blinded by their own transgressions.
3) It's almost a flat parking lot at the NA Lowes...how in the world did you fall? Is it possible you are unable to walk and chew gum at the same time?

5) The beauty of REAL free speech is that you can insult someone in high places and get away with it, whether it causes everyone in GA to grow a third leg or not.

AGAIN.
I tripped and fell on a flat surface parking lot last summer. I tripped and then lost my balance and could not regain it. I did some serious damage to my shoulder that required surgery. If you ever fall and get hurt, you will understand.
I fall.
I get hurt.
I get back up and continue.
I don't let my bones get weak w age or lack of use.
I have a healthy body and keep it that way.
I understand that some folks are just frail and weak and get hurt easily.
It just seems next to impossible to fall on a flat surface unless you drag your feet and stumble on something you didn't see in your path because you were doing something that distracted you from walking upright and carefully.
Like I said, "can the ranter walk and chew gum at the same time?"
Not being unmerciful or uncaring, just seems like something that happened for some other reason than the parking lot being at fault.

The reason you won't be 'privy' to any fall I might have is cuz I won't whine about it.
I don't know that Newt will be able to muster the zeal of his party sufficient to secure the nomination. Regardless, his participation will ensure the candidates will have to bring their intellectual A-Game! The man is simply brilliant.
Even the devil himself appears as an angel of light.

So yeah, Newt might be 'brilliant', but not all that glitters is gold.
What are some causes of falls?

You may be more likely to fall if you are taking four or more medicines. You are also likely to fall if you have changed your medicine within the past two weeks.
Funny that you mention falls.... yesterday I had a friend tell me she is falling more than ever.....the reason is she doesn't have feeling in the bottom of her foot anymore........this lady has been very healthy most of her life & a very hard worker----age catches up with all of us.
Zeno so you think it is impossible to fall and get hurt. My bones are strong, and I am not frail. It was my fault I fell. I just lost my balance for a second and I tried my best to regain it, but my shoulder hit a parked vehicle and that was it. I could not get up and walk. My shoulder was dislocated, and damaged. It can happen to anyone. It only takes a second to have a bad accident. It was not because of frail bones and age.
Zeno whine? If you had the same injury, you would do more than whine.
seenit even children fall. Also, my grown son fell about 2 yrs ago, and he rolled down a hill and hit a tree and broke his arm.
