A warm Saturday greeted the more than 200 people who came out to the Wrangler Family Fun Fest in Augusta and its petting zoo, live music and mechanical bull.
"The crowd is better than I've ever seen here before," Tara Scheyer said. "We couldn't have asked for better weather."
Scheyer is the lead singer of Tara Scheyer and the Mud Puppy Band, which has performed at the Fun Fest for the past three years.
The festival was held in front of James Brown Arena, where the Augusta Futurity was going on all week long.
The Futurity holds the festival as an effort to bring more people into contact with the event, which ended Saturday night.
Vickie Phillips and her daughters Taylor and Katlyn came to enjoy the concert and petting zoo.
"We're big fans of Tara Scheyer and her band," Phillips said. "The girls loved seeing the animals."
Taylor, 5, said her favorite part was seeing a llama and a 5-day-old baby goat.
"It's really gotten them into the cowboy mood," her mother said. "They want to get cowboy hats now."
