THIS RAVE GOES out to the couple who found my two Labradors on Furys Ferry Road on Dec. 9 and returned them to me on the 10th. Thank you so much for taking in my girls for the night. The fence had given way to the persistence of my 2-year-old Lab's curiosity, and after crossing the road she and her mother could not get back home. My heroes not only placed an ad on Craigslist but also placed an ad in this paper. And didn't stop there. They found my number when going out in 20-degree weather to post signs for my dogs' safe return. The Christmas spirit is truly alive! My God bless you and your family now and always! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I WANT TO THANK the members of the Augusta-Richmond County Fire Department for the beautiful fruit basket they give the members of the widowers of the fire department. Merry Christmas, and thank you again.

A BIG RAVE to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office! A week ago, I was involved in an auto accident. It was 4:35 a.m., pitch dark, and I was alone, a little old lady. One of Columbia County's best came to my aid. Johnathan could not have done more to get me out of a tough spot. I am grateful to him, as we all should be grateful to all law enforcement who put themselves out there to aid and protect us.

I WOULD LIKE TO RAVE about Dads in Action and Mr. Battle. They brought Santa to my class and presents for my babies. Thanks to Dads in Action, we had a wonderful surprise on Thursday.

HUGE RAVES TO my sister. After her son was born, she and her husband decided to have everyone come to their house for holidays. She and her husband go all out to make everyone welcome on all the holidays of the year, but Christmas is special with the huge tree and fellowship of both sides of the family. She and her husband have made this a family and friends tradition for many years. I think they are special and deserve a great big rave.

THIS A HUGE RAVE to the Appling post office and everyone who works at any post office. I just want to thank you for the excellent work you did on getting my Christmas package delivered so quickly. I took it to the post office Dec. 15 around 3 p.m., and it was delivered the next day to my brother in South Carolina before 1 p.m. Job well done!
