New canal hiking tours will begin next month

A series of new hiking tours along the Augusta Canal will be held in October and November featuring local experts in history, wildlife and forestry.

Each tour takes about two hours and will begin at the waterworks parking lot at the end of Goodrich Street. The cost is $2 per adult or $1 per child, with an $8 maximum per family group. There is no charge for members of the Augusta Canal Keepers Society.
