I HAVE A RANT against a teacher at Georgia Military College. I was told to do an ethics essay on anything I was passionate about so I chose "Should a Mosque be Put on Ground Zero?" I did the essay and used the computer to find all my information. I received an 80 on my essay. Everyone else in my class got to make their grade better; I did not because she said this was a religious paper. ... I am a Christian and I stand up for what I believe in. But in this case I was just trying to get a good grade. My teacher never said we could not do a religious paper. I am going to exercise my First Amendment right and see what happens.
THIS RANT is for the people in Richmond County that collect taxes. There's a big tax windfall that y'all could be getting, but you won't do it. If you ride through any subdivision in south Augusta and some parts of west Augusta any night there are literally hundred of cars with Columbia County tags on them. So they've kept buying their tags in Columbia County, but they're living in Richmond County. If y'all were to crack down on these people we wouldn't have to have any tax increases or anything. You'd be making plenty of money.
I HAVE A LEGITIMATE RAVE against all police agencies who charge people with DUI and say that they're over the limit. How does a person know when they are over the limit? If they want to ruin someone's life or something like that to prevent an accident, these people should give out some type of Breathalyzer gadgets so people will know when they have drunk too much to be on the highway. I don't see why that's not something that's available anywhere. If they really want to save lives they would do that.
Restaurants aren't the only place you find loud music. It's in cars, sporting events, homes, almost everywhere you go. I believe it's been affecting people's minds. That's why there's so much violence in this world today. I say that because one of my neighbors is starting to play a boom box day and night and it's beginning to get to me.
THE GOODWILL has become so uppity that they are now picking and choosing such high-quality merchandise that is donated to them that the average person can no longer donate good items to the Goodwill store for them to resell. They prefer, as the employee just said to me, new stuff. Quality that can be resold at a retail value. Well, I'm sorry.
Your instructor should provide you with a guideline of what is or not accepted as topics or subject matter and what to not write about if the essay is of controversial nature. These types of guidelines are introduced typically in what is known as a syllabus, outlining the expectations of the instructor and basics on when something important that affects your grade will be due and the specifics of each assignment. Additionally, instructors often hand out a printed outline for each assignment when it is assigned or they write these specifics on the board. Finally, it is best to discuss with your instructor how you intend to approach your topic and what points you want to introduce and emphasize. If this had been done, perhaps you could have avoided the lost opportunity to improve your grade. Writing is an exercise and good writing is good re-writing. Following directions and being prepared are things you should have learned prior to applying for college entrance.
Richmond County will never act wisely with taxpayer money. This is a historical fact.
This is hysterical. First of all a rave is positive applause and I don't sense that is what you were trying to do. Secondly, once you have attended your first DUI class, you'll understand (hopefully) how to determine if you are intoxicated legally before getting behind the wheel of an auto..it's called BAC (blood-alcohol content)...based on the amount you drink per hour per your body weight...and how long it takes for the alcohol to be metabolized. Lastly, if you don't know you are drunk, then it's a safe bet you shouldn't drive.
Go inside and turn your TV on loud...close the windows and turn on the a/c...the noise won't go away, but you can build a shield to soften the annoyance...wear sound protection ear buds.
Goodwill has been like this for years...I ceased donating to them decades ago...have you been living in a cave for a while?

"Don't drink and drive" makes it easy for all concerned to understand. I hope you learned a lesson from your arrest.
Jay thank you for simplifying it for people that don't quite understand about the no drinking and driving thing. To the person that went to GMC... you are WELL within your First Amendment Rights to have written that paper, however, you instructor is also within theirs.
Do the words "designated driver" mean anything to anyone. Jay covered it pretty well. Don't drink and drive and you will not get arrested for being over the limit.
Ranter #2..... Your brilliance is showing.. (Do you feel the sarcasm?) Let me explain to you how a tag works in the State of GA. Once you pay the taxes, the tag is registered to you. It doesn't matter if you move to Fulton, Bibb, or even Ware county. It is still your tag. When/If you move and it is time to renew the tag, the tag office will give you the sticker to put on your tag that indicates you have paid the taxes for the current year. They will not give you a new sticker for the county in which you now reside. Granted, you may can ask for the county sticker, not sure about that. But I do know from experience that ordinarily, they are not just going to give you the sticker for the county that you moved to...
Ranter #3... If you drink, don't drive. Then you know that you don't have anything to be concerned about. As for amounts it takes, that differs from person to person as it depends on other factors. However, just as a side note, GA has a Less Safe D.U.I. You can be charged with it even if your blood alcohol is not at 0.08. (I think you can be charged with it as low as 0.05.) It doesn't take very much alcohol to reach a BAC of 0.05. So, the safest, bet.... If you drink, don't drive.
Don't drink and drive. Finish your drink first so you don't spill it if you hit a pothole.

Today's travel update. We are picking up in Kansas City and going to Sacramento CA. Load was scheduled for 04:00 central, but since I am here you can tell that didn't happen.
One of the reasons you see the Columbia county tags is because they can pull up to the Columbia county schools w/o causing a problem with onlookers.....Don't drink & drive...so simple if folks would just abide by that.....Good Will picky, ha ..who would have thunk it....Good am folks.

As we enter the start of another month - I want to thank all of you for your educational e-mails over the past year. I am totally screwed up now and have little chance of recovery.
I no longer open a bathroom door without using a paper towel, or have the waitress put lemon slices in my ice water without worrying about the bacteria on the lemon peel.
I can’t use the remote in a hotel room because I don’t know what the last person was doing while flipping through the adult movie channels.
I can’t sit down on the hotel bedspread because I can only imagine what has happened on it since it was last washed..hmmmm
I have trouble shaking hands
With someone who has been driving because the number one pastime while driving alone is picking one’s nose.
Eating a snack sends me on a guilt trip because I can only imagine how many gallons of Trans fats I have consumed over the years.
I can’t touch any woman’s purse
For fear she has placed it on the floor of a public bathroom.
I MUST SEND MY SPECIAL THANKS
To whoever sent me the one about rat crap in the glue on envelopes because I now have to use a wet sponge with every envelope that needs sealing.

SAN CLEMENTE, California -- Authorities say they have arrested 20 Mexican citizens at an Orange County beach after they tried to enter the United States illegally by boat.
The U.S. Border Patrol says the 17 men and three women were picked up after agents saw them come ashore at San Clemente State Beach around 3 a.m. Monday.
Authorities say a 36-year-old woman broke her leg after jumping from the boat and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The rest of the group was taken to a Border Patrol station for processing.
Send the hospital bill to Calderon!!! Now bleeding hearts tell me we (taxpayers) don't pay for their medical care.

Re: car tags. I don't know if it still happens but several years ago, residents of Aiken County would buy Richmond County tags, (using the address of a relative or friend) because taxes were less. S.C. could have a lower rate now, I have no idea.
The thing is, the tag issue will almost always works it way out. I have an acquaintance who has a house in North Ga, he has lived in Augusta for more than 10 years. He has never bought a tag or registered to vote in Richmond County. No way you can find all these little fragments of law-breaking. No sense in fretting about it.

Our sheriff in Gwinnett county said we paid $500,000 last year for medical care for illegals in the county jail. Now think of some older folks you know that could use the medical care & just can't afford it.
