Rants & Raves

Comments from our readers:

I work as manager of a high sales volume store. I have seen a dramatic increase in customer complaints since June, and they all have coincided with the 100-degree weather. I have heard complaints about the music, the temperature, the shopping bag size, the line for the restroom, and it goes on and on. I have worked retail all over this country, and I will admit I get the most complaints from this area. And I am originally from Augusta.

To those complaining
about the vague “them” and the Richmond County straw votes: I’m sure the local Democratic Party decided to include four questions on its ballot to determine voter opinion about relevant issues. The local Republican Party did not decide to include such questions on its ballot. And that’s the way it is.

Rave to Iry Jernigan Jr.
for pulling the woman out of a burning car. It’s refreshing to see a hero on the front page rather than some thug who’s not been sentenced severely enough. He modestly says he was only doing what he was trained to do. That’s partly right, but nobody can be trained to chance a hot fire and a possible explosion. That’s just the guts inside Mr. Jernigan.

I think it is remarkable that within a week of Tiger Woods crashing his Escalade, the media found every woman with whom Tiger has had an affair in the last few years, with photos, text messages, recorded phone calls, etc. They even know it was a wedge from his golf bag that his wife used to break out the windows in the Escalade. Not only that; they know which wedge! Obama has been in office for over a year, and this same press still cannot find any of his childhood friends or neighbors or locate any of Obama’s college papers or grades or how he paid for a Harvard education or which country issued his visa to travel to Pakistan in the 1980s.

I am curious as to how the story of the student suing ASU is so newsworthy that The Augusta Chronicle decided to run virtually the same story, without a response from ASU, two days in a row, once on the front page of the Metro section and once on the front page. Had she been atheist, would this have happened? I think not.

Why did you write an editorial about the ASU lawsuit before all of the facts are out? You even mention that ASU officials have been told not to discuss the subject yet. Do you not feel ethically bound to get all the facts first before you start pushing your view on others?

A judge sentenced three juveniles for vandalizing a school. The three “discharged a fire extinguisher in … hallways and classrooms, including a tech lab … and computers (expensive stuff).” They also threw eggs and red paint all over the place. How much punishment did they get? 30 days’ confinement. The youngest got a whole 10-day sentence.

After a number of years we

After a number of years we all eventually come to understand that with the heat comes hot tempers...and those in need of anger mgt are the first to blow their stacks...I should know.

And this is REALLY an issue...? Small minds....

Ditto what she said...we need more stories of heroic acts on the front page instead of always the same old murder or rape stories...(that didn't come out right did it?)

Tiger had commercial endorsements and sponsors and money talks, BS walks..and as we all know by now our great guru in DC ain't got that much 'swing'.

This is hater bait and I ain't takin' it. Either one.

Why were they not punished by making them clean up their own mess?

Lame hump day stuff. Loved meeting all at yesterday's lunch hope I caught everyone before they left...CG, thanks for helping get it organized and doing most if not all the footwork to make it happen...RK be safe and we'll catch ya back on the flipside...gots me lotsa stuff to start today so just make it to the top of today's pile and from there it's all downhilllllll! Peace out.

#4: And??? What does that

#4: And??? What does that tell you?? Why are they looking for his friends?? If you don't have anything better to do than sit back and worry about the presidents past friends, neighboors, etc., why don't you find them!!! A fruitcake should know that the FBI,CIA ,NCIS, JUSTICE DEPT,and any other agency did everything but dig up his dead mother to make sure he was who he said he was!!! Please use common sense!!!!

Maybe the press should go to Indonesia to find his friends and neighbors, since that's where he lived as a child.

Try finding my college grades or anyone else's grades- you can't, they are protected by privacy laws. As are everyone's.

He most likely went to Harvard on scholarships or Pell grant. His grandparents probably paid for some of it, too. Who cares?

He didn't have a visa to go to Pakistan. College kids do that all the time. Again, who cares?

Good morning y'all.... I work

Good morning y'all....

I work as manager of a high sales volume store. I have seen a dramatic increase in customer complaints since June, and they all have coincided with the 100-degree weather. ... I work in people's homes across the CSRA. It's your store as I'm hearing nothing but praise.

And that’s the way it is.Thank you Uncle Walter.

Rave to Iry Jernigan Jr. for pulling the woman out of a burning car. It’s refreshing to see a hero on the front page rather than some thug who’s not been sentenced severely enough. Is it no longer possible to praise one without the condemnation of another?

Obama has been in office for over a year, and this same press still cannot find any of his childhood friends or neighbors or locate any of Obama’s college papers or grades or how he paid for a Harvard education or which country issued his visa to travel to Pakistan in the 1980s. Do not confuse "unable to find" with "unwilling to investigate".

ASU story: YAWN

A whole ten days.... wow! Tis far better to let 100 guilty go than to incarcerate 1 innocent defendant.... Grossen Bullshiezen.

Happy Hump Day, take care of that indigestion...

Indeed, who cares? Obowelmovement has provided many REAL reasons to be opposed to his agenda without looking for this crap.

Besides, only a fruitcake (lol) would trust the FBI and other "agencies" to do their jobs and criticize local government employees as incompetent or lazy.

Mornin T... None of these

Mornin T... None of these things mattered during the campaign, but thank GOD the press exposed that evil RNC's paying for Sarah's clothes. Now THAT was vital information the electorate needed.

Good Morning America, Friends

Good Morning America, Friends and Foes.

Proving that the King SMCICBHO is or is not an American citizen beyond a reasonable doubt will do one of two things:

1. Everybody will shut up!

2. America will experience the worst revolution in history!

The troubling thing about this whole "citizenship" thing is Barry's spending millions to avoid exposure... I agree George, do it to shut people up and get on with this horrible diversity experiment.

Been round but still love

Been round but still love it.........

Barack Obama met with the Queen of England.

He asked her, "Your Majesty, how do you run such an efficient government? Are there any tips you can give to me?"

"Well," said the Queen, "the most important thing is to surround yourself with intelligent people."

Obama frowned, and then asked, "But how do I know the people around me are really intelligent?"

The Queen took a sip of tea. "Oh, that's easy; you
just ask them to answer an intelligent riddle." The
Queen pushed a button on her intercom. "Please
send Tony Blair in here, would you?"

Tony Blair walked into the room and said, "Yes, my
Queen?"

The Queen smiled and said, "Answer me this please,
Tony, your mother and father have a child. It is not your brother and it is not your sister. Who is it?"

Without pausing for a moment, Tony Blair answered, "That would be me."

"Yes! Very good," said the Queen.

Obama went back home to ask Joe Biden, his vice
presidential choice the same question. "Joe, answer
this for me. Your mother and your father have a child. It's not your brother and it's not your sister. Who is it?"

"I'm not sure," said Biden. "Let me get back to you on that one.." He went to his advisors and asked every one,
but none could give him an answer. Finally, he ended up in the men's room and recognized Colin Powell's shoes in the next stall.

Biden asked Powell, "Colin, can you answer this for
me? Your mother and father have a child and it's not your brother or your sister. Who is it?"

Colin Powell yelled back, "That's easy, it's me!"

Biden smiled, and said, "Thanks!" Then, he went back to speak with Obama. "Say, I did some research and I have the answer to that riddle. It is Colin Powell!"

Obama got up, stomped over to Biden, and angrily yelled into his face, "No! you idiot! It's Tony Blair!"

AND THAT MY FRIENDS IS WHAT'S WRONG WITH OUR GOVERNMENT.

Send away for a priceless

Send away for a priceless gift
One not subtle, one not on the list
Send away for a perfect world
One not simply, so absurd
In these times of doing what you're told
You keep these feelings, no one knows
What ever happened to the young man's heart
Swallowed by pain, as he slowly fell apart

And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45,
Swimming through the ashes of another life
No real reason to accept the way things have changed
Staring down the barrel of a 45

Send a message to the unborn child
Keep your eyes open for a while
In a box high up on the shelf, left for you, no one else
There's a piece of a puzzle known as life
Wrapped in guilt, sealed up tight

What ever happened to the young man's heart
Swallowed by pain, as he slowly fell apart

And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45,
Swimming through the ashes of another life
No real reason to accept the way things have changed
Staring down the barrel of a 45

45~ Shinedown

We were sitting there

We were sitting there eating.... AD says "What's that kid doing down there?"... the answer became all too apparent.

I put it up as an avatar, because it reminds me of innocence lost. I can remember the days when taking a q wasn't such a world changing event.

I hope this little guy never loses his innocence, nor his bravado.

Major props to his "big sister" who jumped out to help him regain his attire...
