An 18-year-old Augusta man was found bleeding in the 1000 block of Broad Street early Saturday.

According to a Richmond County sheriff's report, an officer was working traffic control in the 1100 block of Broad Street about 12:50 a.m. when a pedestrian told him the man was injured.

When the officer found the victim, he was bleeding heavily from his face.

The victim said he was attacked with a beer bottle by a man he did not know.

The report said the victim had a large cut under his right eye and other cuts on his face and neck.

The victim was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Man robbed downtown while walking home

An Augusta man says he was robbed early Saturday while walking home.

The 38-year-old man told the Richmond County Sheriff's Office that he was walking in the 700 block of Broad Street about 12:45 a.m. when he was approached by two men.

The victim said one of the men stepped in front of him and asked "What you got?" then pushed him against a wall and held him there while the other man removed his wallet.

When the man saw the wallet contained no money, he took a $5 bill from the man's back pocket and two cell phones from a front pocket, the victim said.
