Warren County man dies in house fire

A 49-year-old man died in a fire at his Warren County home Friday night, authorities say.

Warren County Deputy Coroner Sandy Yelton identified the victim as Llewellyn Duval Reese, of Mesena, Ga. An autopsy was performed at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab in Augusta on Saturday. Yelton said preliminary indications are that Reese died of smoke inhalation.

Mr. Reese's body was found in his frame home shortly after 9 p.m. Friday. He was pronounced dead at 9:30 p.m. after firefighters with the Warren County Fire/Rescue Services extinguished the blaze, according to Nicki Thigpen, the public information officer for the fire department.

The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen, Yelton said.

Nabbed loot might be a letdown for robber

One robber was likely disappointed Friday night after he stopped to look at what he had stolen.

The robbery occurred about 7:30 p.m. at the Fred's retail store at 2416 Windsor Spring Road, according to a Richmond County sheriff's report. A woman told officers that as she was walking through the parking lot, a man approached, grabbed her plastic bag and fled. The only item inside the shopping bag was a box of Kotex female sanitary napkins, the report says.

Maybe the robber could donate

Maybe the robber could donate his loot to the suspect in the first snippet. (although the mugshot suggests "she" might have no use for them either)
