JIMMY CARTER, "constant crusader." What game does Carter play? Who finances him other than Saudi Arabia? Your story even mentions Carter's "crusade" of "mediating ... never-ending conflicts." If Carter's mediating was worth a flip, those conflicts wouldn't be "never-ending."

I WISH TO APOLOGIZE to all those hard-working artists that painted the walls of the water works up on Highland Avenue. I started the ugly trash talk about their murals being graffiti. But I must stick to my guns and say it is in the wrong place. And another thing, please paint over that big ugly turtle and put some small alligators along the banks instead.

HEADLINE: "No churchgoing Christmas for the First Family." Remember the guy, Obama, who claimed he was a Christian? He's gone to church three whole times in the past year, and all three of those were for political reasons. Now at Christmas, he's not gone at all. Attendance doesn't make you a Christian, but only three services in a year has got to tell us some real truth about this guy.

I WOULD LIKE to personally thank the sheriff's deputies and volunteers for bringing toys to all of the children in Olmstead Homes for Christmas. This was truly a blessing.

TO THE RANTER who is complaining about President Obama going on vacation. Why complain? Bush did the same thing. He's the one who got us in this mess anyway.

IT'S PITIFUL, if not wrong, but the state is making some local employees take 12 furlough days within five months. Most of these people are already among the working poor, but what do they care? They should be furloughing those making the most money, not the least.

HELP! WILL ANYONE in the Augusta area hire a person with a 20-year-old felony conviction? I worked at Castleberry's for nine years and have not been able to find a job since the plant closed in December 2008. Everywhere I apply I am told they do not hire felons.

NOBODY SHED A TEAR when I returned from Vietnam. and I'm not complaining. Yet it brings a tear to my eyes when I see a parent returning from war today and surprising their young children. People forget that life is all about the children. They suffer the most.

I THINK EACH and every member of Congress should spend a week in the trenches with our troops. Then, spend a week with the families of those troops. And I mean the foot soldier, not the brass.

RE: ATTEMPT to bomb an airliner in Detroit. Despite a safe landing, the actual "terrorism" worked beautifully. America is still terrorized by this situation, the terror being the fear engendered rather than the specific act by the terrorist.

The state, county, and other

The state, county, and other government are out of money and I doubt many would vote to raise taxes, of course you are welcome to donate more. Furloughing is an option that keeps everyone working while trying to reduce budgets. Its not good, it may not seem fair, etc. but it beats the alternative of firing good people when everyone can take a few more days off and a reduction in pay instead. That being said, most government enteties all have plenty of wasteful spending that could be cut out so all employees in any agency being furloughed ought to meet together and determine ways they can save their agency and the taxpayers money and once acomplished, reomve the furlough days. This will benefit the employees, the taxpayers, and everyone else at the same time. It doesn't matter if you are a firefighter, cop, teacher, agent, etc. we all know of waste in each and every agency and most also know one or two individuals who do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING every day so do what needs to be done to make them productive, retire or get fired and use the savings to change the furlough days vs. simply complaining about them. Do something to make a positive difference for the community & yourself.

To the Richmond County

To the Richmond County Deputies from the housing units that ingatherd hundreds of toys for the children in the assisted housing areas, you did a wonderful job as the raver stated above. You helped many children and their families and at the same time showed a positive side of law enforcement and hopefully fostered a positive attitude towards other deputies that will carry over in the future. You showed you care and did far more than just talk about it - thanks for all you do.

Rant: Congratulations to the
Unpublished

Rant: Congratulations to the local printing operation for being successful in completely avoiding the serious issue, of the attempted bribe of two local elected officials. The ability to use diversion tactics, change-the-subject operations, or the use minority city officials as scapegoats doctrine, or the ol' repeat-the-same-story trick has worked wonderfully on the ignorant masses. Good luck in the New Year and for those laughing at "justice."

So has anyone noticed another

So has anyone noticed another campaign promise from Obama broken? Seen the defense spending bill that is full of pork? Didn't Obama say that he would not sign bills like that? How's that change working?

Rant 3 - attending a "church"

Rant 3 - attending a "church" service is not a prerequisite to being a christian...the church is not that building you go to or that service you attend...it is the body of Christ and there are many members who are spread all over the world who have never set foot in a "church".

I'd much rather go through an airport body scanner than get a "pat down" from a strange person (although some of y'all might like that..lol). Besides, based on where the Detroit terrorist had the explosives, a general pat down won't work. Better to be scanned than blown to bits!

To the ranter on Obama

To the ranter on Obama attending church only 3 times since taking office. Add in Church's Fried Chicken and he was most likely 80%, or keep an eye on the Mosque attendance.

I agree to some degree about the use of body scans. I just feel the emotional impact for some people like women who have had breast cancer, veterans who have had injuries leaving them less of a man, old people wearing hidden bags, ect. Their has to be a better way to secure their privacy.

CG, Muslims recognize Jesus

CG, Muslims recognize Jesus Christ as a true Prophet, just not the last one. Muhammad has that distinction in Islam.

Cobalt, Jehovah Witnesses

Cobalt, Jehovah Witnesses view Christ just like Muslims do. They see Him as a prophet but not a Saviour.

I'm tired of responses from

I'm tired of responses from Odumbo fans constantly stating its Bush's fault. If you want to look at the reason for the real estate crash you can thank no other than Bill Clinton. He was a huge advocate for the "Everyone should own a home! Even though you make $8 bucks an hour." That was the piece of the puzzle that brought the wall down. Whining about Bush Bush Bush did it is getting old. In your job when something goes wrong do you blame everyone else? So quit already with the blame game.

From their website:

From their website: "Jehovah’s Witnesses can be disfellowshipped for a number of rule violations: premarital or extramarital sex, using alcohol excessively, using tobacco products, celebrating Christmas, reciting the pledge of allegiance, lying, stealing, joining the military, speaking to a disfellowshipped Witness, reading religious material not published by the governing body, or running for political office just to name a few. " "Jehovah’s Witnesses are not allowed to salute the flag of any nation, recite the pledge of allegiance, stand for or sing the national anthem, run for public office, vote, or serve in the armed forces." So does this make them terrorists like we treat Muslims in this country? Also...

From their website cont.:

From their website cont.: "They do not believe in the Trinity. Instead, they follow a strict monotheism, in which: Jehovah is the Supreme Being. Jesus is the Son of God, a created being. Christ is believed to have originally existed in a pre-human state as the Archangel Michael. He later took human form as a man like any other person, except that he was sinless at birth and remained so throughout his earthly life. Jehovah’s Witnesses do not believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ. They believe that after the crucifixion, Christ died and was resurrected as an invisible, non-material, glorious, spirit creature. They believe that Jesus appeared on earth after his resurrection in a special body that Jehovah created for him.

The Holy Spirit they believe, is not a separate entity, but is simply a force: the method by which God interacts with the world. " I bet some of you are shocked!!!!

Some of today's problems were certainly exacerbated by Pres Bush's unwillingness to veto senseless spending bills. However, the man who ran on the promise of change is doing nothing to curtail the trend, much less reverse it. He is just trying to lead us down the merry path to total collapse.

1) If Jimmah's the crusdader, is Obama the Boy Blunder? 2) In the words of Pink Floyd "Tear Down The Wall!" 3) I hope Boy King Barry is attending Sunday AM Economics 101 classes instead of church. 4) Have you hugged a law enforcement officer today? 5) POTUS on vacation... so what? 6) You mean the state is broke? GA should follow DC's example: print money. 7) I hire felons, but not until the felon in chief and both Houses of Convicts are flushed. 8) Life is indeed all about the children. Too bad we've crapped on their futures. 9) Congress paying attention and time to our soldiers and their constituents? HAHAHAHAHA... HAHAHAHAHA... oh my, that cost me a keyboard. 10) Fo Shizzle!
