Rants and raves

Comments from our readers:

RAVES TO THE PRESIDENT for not being pushed into making a snap decision about sending more troops to Afghanistan. Speed wasn't the priority; getting the figures correct was. Like Bing Crosby used to say, "Don't let the stars get in your eyes."

GEORGIA STATE GOVERNMENT "estimates projects and revenues will decline." Best news in years. Most projects by government (all levels) have proven to be bottomless money holes with nobody profiting but politicians. If half of government disappeared tomorrow, we still would not have cut government back to where it should be.

CLIMATE GATE is upon us; the jig is up; the evidence is clear. All of the "environment/climate" stuff is a hoax and has been since the Henry Kissinger set started decades ago. And yet our elected politicians in D.C. do nothing. Where is Barrow? Where are the Georgia senators? And the South Carolina folks? Just hiding someplace hoping the crimes against all America that happened on their watch will quietly sneak away?

WHERE ARE THE news stories on the greatest science fraud ever -- man-made global warming? NASA won't release its raw data as required by law. New Zealand has fudged data, and the world's largest Climate Research Unit's data is full of fabricated data!

JUST A COMMENT: Just think about it, if you are 65 to 85 years old and you've been paying payroll taxes into the Medicare trust fund, the government is now going to take money out of a trust fund to set up a program for people who didn't buy insurance.

ANY POLITICOS who abstain from voting, miss meetings or vote only present are doing a disservice to those who elected them to office. They were elected to be the voice of the people and if for some reason they cannot or will not fulfill that trust, they should step down.

AS A DAILY crossword fan, thanks to whoever made it just a little harder to work. Makes those old minds exercise just a little harder.

OBAMA SAYS jobless "losses ... smallest" since the start of the recession. Is that clear? Does it mean anything in English? It means more people are out of work while it tries to sound like the opposite. Meanwhile, Obama says he will "grow jobs." Of course, people don't grow jobs. That's more politician English that's supposed to sound like something when it means nothing.

JOHNNY EDWARDS writes that Matt Aitkin has to show "his constituents he can do more for them than Betty Beard ever fathomed." The only thing political leaders have to show constituents is their ability to keep government off of people's backs. Few politicians do this nowadays.

BO's an joke ... and Perry

BO's an joke ... and Perry Como not Bing Cosby, sang "Don't Let the Stars Get in Your Eyes". What kind of leader would tell the enemy we are pulling out in 18 months! Taliban to the US, "Hit the Road Jack"!

It's too bad that the troops

It's too bad that the troops who died while waiting for help in Afghanistan can't respond to the first rant. Their blood stained Obama's hands while he spun his wheels and delayed the inevitable. Good point, jebko, that certainly didn't make the mission any easier or less bloody.

Don't make fun of the global

Don't make fun of the global warming crowd. They are getting enough ribbing from Mother Nature herself. Did I hear somewhere that this last weekend's snowfall was the earliest ever in some parts while it was the heaviest this early in other parts? Gotta love global warming. If ya don't watch out you will globally freeze to death.

On this date in 1993, U.S.

On this date in 1993, U.S. President Bill Clinton signed the North American Free Trade Agreement. How is that working out for everybody?

Ah.... that's right..... we

Ah.... that's right..... we weren't in a war, especially not one that lacked a truely definitely win, no troops had died, no home foreclosures had taken place, everyone had jobs, there was no recession, that national budget balanced, there was no such thing as a stimulus bill and there was peace on earth until one 1 year ago when Obama took office. ....... as for the crossword puzzles - make up your own words to fit the spaces..... seems to work for the Republican Band Wagon on everything else.

Of course Obama can grow

Of course Obama can grow jobs: enough fertilizer emits from his oral edifice to grow anything. Stop global warming: shut Congress & DC down.

To be honest Dora - I just

To be honest Dora - I just get tired of the bashing, in both directions. BO is no more solely responsible for this war, the economy etc. then Bush was for the surplus he inherited from Clinton. I'll take NAFTA and that surplus again over this rediculous war and deficit anyday. All that really matters right now is that our men and women are overseas with no magical formula for ending this war. There is no amount of troops, money etc to throw at it that will create a swift or peaceful resolve. And while all the partisanship BS takes place here - they are trying to live another day there. Sure I feel bad for those struggling to find jobs and survive financially here but I am sure any one of our troops is enduring far worse every day there.

I want to rave about the

I want to rave about the nurses at the ER at Dr's Hospital. They are some of the kindest and most caring girls I have ever encountered. About 6 months ago I had a reaction to my Viagra. The swelling would not go down and only increased. After 4 hours I went into the ER with this problem and it was handled very quickly by most of the staff on 2 different shifts. Not only did I receive excellent treatment and lots of attention while I was there, but many of the nurses still call me to make sure this hasn't happened again. Some folks still have a great work ethic and are willing to go above and beyond. Kudos!

To all those who are saying

To all those who are saying that the Global Warming issue is a hoax, is it smart to keep polluting the world? If carbon monoxide is so harmless then sit in your car garage with your car running. If polluting water is okay, then drink the stuff that are in the sterams of South Augusta. the bottom line is that reducing pollution is the smart thing to do.

martineez just can't

martineez just can't understand the fact that dims have been in control for 3 years and those dims voted for the war before they voted against it. We now have the highest employment in over 25 yrs, the largest debt in our history, fraudulent global warming being forced on us, horrible and expensive supposed healthcare plan being forced at us, prezbho's war and the list goes on and on. ** If you're not concerned - You're not paying attention...

You are so right. The statement that SS will not be effected is baloney. Medicare costs will most likely go up and guess how it is paid?
It comes out of SS and that will mean less SS for those depending on it for their livelyhood. I do, and can see the cut coming.

dora, you hit it right on the head..the administration has everyone looking one way meanwhile allowing nafta, unfair trade deals with china, mexico and other countries and allowing rampant outsourcing of our manufacturing base(heavy & medium industry and steel production in the northeast/midwest, textiles and furniture in the sourth)...destroying our middle class under the false premise that the new middle class in other countries will buy goods from us...my question is what will they buy if we don't make anything...i guess we can export drywall...no wait, china/s already sending contaminated drywall over here
