Rants and raves

Comments from our readers:

A RAVE TO the person complaining about the loud music at Lumpkin Road and Deans Bridge Road. These kids do this because they are not worried about getting a ticket. The police don't seem to care. I have made about 10-15 complaints about loud music on Windsor Spring Road. Most of the time police don't even respond. Laws are passed but not enforced.

I WANT TO RANT about the construction on Columbia Road. If it's said you are only working from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., then stop at 6 a.m.!

THE HARRISBURG neighborhood is not an ATV playground. Our rights-of-way that have been planted are donated to Richmond County. If you damage the plants you will be fined for your vandalism. It is illegal to ride ATVs in downtown neighborhoods. We are working with the sheriff's department to bring you to justice.

RANT TO THE North Augusta recreation department: T-ballers should not keep score (they are learning fundamentals of the game); nor should they have "playoffs"; nor should their games begin at 8 p.m.!

DUBOSE PORTER, who is running for Georgia governor, says public education's problems are the result of "seven years of damage ... by Republican leaders." Alas, the problem is from decades of damage from both big parties. If Mr. Porter must run based on party rather than on common sense, he's not the man for governor.

NO ONE should have murdered the baby killer, Dr. Tiller, but to compare him to the Nazi death-camp butcher seems justifiable.

A RANT AGAINST the security at the Augusta Mall. My wife and I are in our 60s, and last week a group of young men with their pants down around their ankles and their butts showing pushed my wife out of the way so that they could walk side by side down the aisle and just laughed about it as they passed by. I talked to a security person, who said there was nothing they could do. My wife and I will not go back to the Augusta Mall.

I DIDN'T KNOW that thing beside the steering wheel in the car was a turn signal. I thought that was where you were supposed to hang your auto air freshener. I learn something new every day when I read The Augusta Chronicle.

I AM DISGUSTED with ASU in regard to the shuttle system they are forcing down our throats and ignoring our many complaints. This system, which will provide transportation to fewer than 500 students living on campus, will cost each student an additional $96 a semester when the state of Georgia has already raised tuition by about $500 for next year. During the current economic situation, why on Earth do you think it's a good time to start a shuttle system?

If ASU would be allowed to

If ASU would be allowed to have dorms that are truly on the campus, then there would be no need for a shuttle service. Complain to the NIMBYs in the area who have refused to allow ASU to have on campus housing.

Yeah some of those T-ball

Yeah some of those T-ball coaches take this way too serious. Keep statistics on the 4 and 5 year olds, assigning positions etc. My gosh, they are little kids. Just because you never excelled in anything don't give you the right to try and make up for it with these youngsters. If you thin NA is bad, go watch a Belvedere game. The t-ball coaches act like a major leahue coach. It is so stupid looking, and sounding it is funny.

Why would anyone in their

Why would anyone in their right mind go to the Disgusta Mall. The police officer wannabes are just there for the check. They are missing gonads and are scared of the gang bangers.

As to the turn perpetual turn

As to the turn perpetual turn signal rants, drive defensively and it doesn't matter. Use of the turn signal when people change lanes rapidly at high speeds does not help. They still jump out in front of you dangerously. Complaining about people not using turn signals is just like complaining about people speeding or driving in the left lane. It's going to happen. Drive defensively.

Augusta Mall will follow in

Augusta Mall will follow in the tracks of Regency Mall, thanks to these bums.
If anyone protests their actions, it will be labeled as racist. I give the mall 5 years, unless things change, which they won't.

dhd: And why do you assume

dhd: And why do you assume they're buying drugs? We live in the country and people ride those dam ATV's all the freakin' time. They tear up the roadsides, driveways, and dirt roads. They are not street legal so anyone riding them on roads should be ticketed or arrested. If you don't own enough land to ride on your own property or go to an approved ATV riding area stay off the things.

techlover, harrisburg ain't the country, when I say all the freakin' time I mean, 7am, noon, 3pm, 9pm, 3am. most have got backpacks on. too old to be in highschool, don't think they let 'em park ATVs at ASU. Plus the fitten street/ sand hills area is a known hotbed of drug activity. I'm just connecting the dots here. why the hell else would oddballs be riding atvs around like that?

I agree that 8pm is a little

I agree that 8pm is a little late for t-ball. But not to keep score? It's a game and in games, like in life, there are winners and there are losers. If they don't learn it in their formative years then they won't be able to cope with it later. It's just touchy-feely BS and not real life.

OT its not funny, I have never seen a fight, but watch people come close. It is sad, that people cannot control themselves. Its obvious which parents put their kids through hell, the parent is always screaming and their kid misses a ball and starts crying.

They do that whether you keep

They do that whether you keep score or not. Make it a rule that parents can drop em off but can't stay if they say ONE word.

Good morning CSRA.... Rants

Good morning CSRA.... Rants 1) When I was a kid, I hung out and played objectionable music at loud volumes too. History repeats itself, many of these kids will grow into tomorrow's leaders. 2) Gracious, they didn't stop at 6am? You mean they actually worked overtime? I appreciate the fact you cannot recognize a work ethic when you observe it. Welcome to the majority. 3) ATV's and "go-carts" and golf cars cruise my neighborhood all the time. See rant 1. 4) T-ball is a great start to learning teamwork, the concept of winning and how to lose with grace. Too bad the parents cannot follow that example. 5) Porter is just following the "Obobblehead pattern" to successful delusion of the voting sheeple. 6) Abortion... just an argument to try to impose your will upon others. 7) Don't like the patrons at Augusta Mall? Don't patronize it. 8) Seems turn signals are an option on all new cars, especially those upscale foreign models weaving their way up Washington Rd. 9) Well, during this "economic situation", our leaders(?) have spent massive amounts of money we don't have. ASU is just following the fine example which is supported by that "majority". Now for news.....

Egypt... Ocarpathia delivered

Egypt... Ocarpathia delivered a speech to the "Muslim world" yesterday that was very close to speeches delivered by Bushwacko. It was accepted much more favorably than Bushwacko's speech, largely due to the use of a different color teleprompter.

Wash DC... right below the

Wash DC... right below the radar, Congress is set to vote on a proposal which will tax soda and other sweet objects to raise revenue for the overhaul of the health care system. No new taxes upon the middle class? This tax, as well as the recent increase of other sin taxes, will hit the poorest and middle class hardest. Change you used to have in your pocket.

Gee, I don't know HOW we could possibly see all this activity on nationalizing health care, without a SINGLE story in the MSM...they must be busy with all those other stories about things that will have an enormous, direct impact on every citizen of the Republic, and that will allow bureaucrats to dictate whether you will live or die... http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=YTUyYTY1ODIxY2VhM2NmNzgxMTI2MmQ...

More from DC.... Oblameless

More from DC.... Oblameless appointed yet another "Czar" this week, bringing the number of "Czars" appointed to 18, far more than any other POTUS during their entire term.(Geez even the Antichrist only gets TEN kings) "Czars" do not get reviewed by Congress (Sorta like the stimulus/bailout bills), nor are they subject to confirmation. Didn't all these Obowelmovement supporters cry foul when Bushwacko "circumvented the Constitution"?

The Augusta Mall situation is

The Augusta Mall situation is simple. Let the bums keep it. Let them do their thing there. It keeps them out of my neighborhood and the stores I like to go to. Just listen to the news. It isn't safe to go to the bathroom at Sears, you might get beat up, don't go to the food court, you might get run over by a car, don't walk down the sidewalks, you might get shoved off. If the stores won't put pressure on the owners then they deserve to loose money and go bankrupt.
