Rants and raves

RAVE FOR THE Christmas banners that were located at many of the Richmond County intersections, which included south Augusta! WOW! Now a suggestions to "One Up" this incredible idea: Use the same hardware and hang banners that will HIGHLIGHT Augusta during Masters Week.

RANT FOR THE Augusta Commission for still not repairing the huge bump at the Georgia end of the Fifth Street Bridge. Another to the AC for not following up on their published article on this same complaint!

POOR STEVE SPURRIER. Getting smashed by Iowa. You gotta feel sorry for the Old Ball Coach these days. Naaah!

EVERY DAY ALL THESE RANTS about what everyone else should do get a little old. I think if we spent half of that energy on how to make our own lives better instead of being hip deep in everyone else's business, we would be a lot better off.

NO MATTER IF WE wear a white sheet and light a cross in the name of racial purity or dress in black and carry weapons in the name of "justice," hate and ignorance are wrong. They must be stopped before our communities are destroyed.

RANT FOR SOUTH CAROLINA Gov. Mark Sanford for his unwillingness to accept federal money for unemployment benefits, What an idiot.

NOTICE HOW OBAMA does as he pleases already? He claims he is not yet president, so don't weigh him down with problems like Hamas. But then he turns around, still not yet in the White House, and "tells Congress to move on stimulus." That's the way Obama's gonna be, folks. He talks out of both sides of his mouth. It'll only get worse.

JUDGE BLANCHARD POSTPONES the hearing for the brother of Justin Elmore. The brother has apparently been convicted of cocaine crimes and obstruction of a cop. Why should this brother suddenly get a three-month reprieve? Political correctness continues to reign.

OBAMA ALREADY PLANS TO SPEND another few zillion dollars that neither he nor we the people have. Alas, you still can't spend your way out of debt; you must do the opposite -- SAVE! Why can't our politicians learn this? Because it would take away some of their personal power, the thing they ran for office for in the first place. There are enough inflated egos in Washington to make the Earth float out of orbit. Maybe that's behind the weird weather.

Highlight the Masters?

Highlight the Masters? Residents LEAVE town during the Masters!! And South Augustans aren't the type that goes out to the tees, you know? They tend to actually WORK for a living! Would be better to have signs that read....SAFE 24/7 PARK....instead! Somewhere that folks can goto to relax after 8+hrs WORKING in the factories (not desk jobs and posting here on the Fed's dime), and also not having to worry about being mugged or worse, too. Thank you!

The gov'mnt is a dyslexic (

The gov'mnt is a dyslexic ( sp. ? ) set up. It's backwards in it's thinking. Large stimules checks should be given to the American people, not the large corporations. Large corp. are not broke. JQ Public are the ones that need a bail out. Small business going bust , schools w/out enough money and the list goes on. A disgrace. BO is sending this country to hell in a hand bag. The next generation will be so uneducated that a third world country will be able to walk in and take over the US. Law enforcement won't have the means to protect anything. BUT, the big corporate guys will still be able to jet to their meetings and see to their own needs. JQP will be worse off than before.

I saw on the T.V. news that

I saw on the T.V. news that Obama says the economy is ailing. Well, I'm sure glad he realized this because I knew this a year ago. I guess now he will form a commity to study the various ups and dowms of an "ailing" economy, a sub-commity to study the findings of the first and then hopefully within the next 3 to 4 years, we will know if the economy really is ailing.

It's a Gator Nation

It's a Gator Nation Celebration - Chomp Chomp! Gotta Love Tebow's penalty - he earned it! My only disappointment, he didn't committ to staying another year. With two BCS Championship Rings and a Heisman in his pocket, I don't blame him for wanting to move on but as a fan, I sure hope he stays.

ah, the resident know it all

ah, the resident know it all PT chimes in. So unemployment is being "coddled from the cradle to the grave"? I was on it once in 1981. It seems I had to have a job (and got laid off) before I could collect it. Boy ,I sure felt "coddled" as I got that little check and spent months looking for a new job. They stopped the unemployment when I did find a new job. Gosh, according to Patti thay must have made a mistake and should still be sending me a check since at last check I'm not in the grave yet. PT, to keep up your so high principles, when you get of age I suggest you refuse Social Security, keep private insurance or pay cash and don't use Medicare, if they send another stimulus check send it back, don't drive on public roads since taxes pay for them,if in trouble don't call the taxpayer provided police or fire departments-handle it yourself, don't use public parks, state or national parks or forests, don't go to anything in the taxpayer fuinded civic centers, concert halls, or museums, stay out of the "Marxist-redistributing the wealth, blah, blah, blah" libraries, and anything else you didn't personally pay for. Have a fun life.

Well, when you take a Sooner, which is defined in these parts as a dog who would sooner make a mess on the porch as the yard, and pit him against a Gator, the Gator will usually eat him for lunch.

NOTICE HOW OBAMA .,..If you

NOTICE HOW OBAMA .,..If you would listen instead of Judgeing you might learn something. Obama said there was a huge difference between Domestic policy & foreign policy & it would not be appropriate to speak on foreign policy until he is sworn in.
WIZZARD...your one more person that need to close their mouth long enough to listen. The wasteful spending to you talk about is excately the kind of craph that Obama is going to stop. Everyone like is comnmenting on what bad shape our country is in. Guess who got it in this bad of shape? White People..But it's going to stop! For more years than anyone would like to admit Senators & Congressman have got rich from lobbist by passing PET projects. That was the status Q. No one would stop because they all did it. But NO LONGER will they take money from the tax payer & put it in their pocket!

politicallyncorrect, you just cost yourself any respect I or anyone here could have for you with your "White People" in that post. That, in my opinion is racists and I am offended by it! If you will bother to get the true facts you will find that Mr. Obama was neck deep in that also!

polin: Yes they will. As long

polin: Yes they will. As long as their constituents( or at least the ones that will make money of of them) want them to bring the bacon home. ie the two unneeded, and by many unwanted interstate highways that Charlie Norwood proposed. Hundreds of billions to build then hundreds of billions for upkeep (see I-20). Of course first he tried to give away all the Corps land around the lake so his buddies could make tons off having the interstate follow the river. At least enough people complained that the give away didn't happen. We still need to stop the interstates though.
