ANYTIME YOU TURN on the TV for news, you see disturbing pictures about tragedies and otherwise. Why is there such an uproar about pictures in the paper? Is there a double standard?
TO THE ABSENT-MINDED woman who pulled out of the YWCA the other day and killed one of the nicest people who ever lived, I don't think you should go to prison, but I do think you should lose your driving privileges for about 10 years. Maybe then, you'll be a lot more careful.
I SUPPORT YOUR DECISION to run the picture of the grieving father. Having lost a child myself, I can tell you that I will never forget the picture. Years from now, we may have forgotten the little boy's name, but we will never forget that picture. We just have to keep him close to our heart, and that family needs all the prayers that we can give him.
A RAVE FOR THE FAMILY of Deputy Eric Sikes. Thank you for sharing him with us, and we are grateful.
IT WOULD HAVE BEEN better if Anna Nicole Smith had been married to James Brown. Then we'd just get one giant investigation rather than the never-ending drivel that keeps the real news hidden by the big media.
TRAGIC THAT PAT TILLMAN was killed, but punishing officers who weren't even there is just more political correctness choking common sense out of the American people and government. We will never win another war as long as PC rules.
PERDUE IS PUSHING for tax money to go into religious groups "performing public services." He who controls the purse strings controls. Are we so blind we can't see this is just a government effort to control churches? As with Bush's sneaky ambition, is Perdue aiming to help Bush take over religion?
THE PHOTO of the grieving father on the front page of the paper should be viewed as a reminder to parents that, no matter how good a parent you think you are, one second's inattention can have tragic results. For some parents, their lapse in attention may only result in a scrape or bruise. None of us are born or trained to be parents. We do the best we can. But, to all the new parents out there, understand this: You can't take your eyes off a young child for a second, or they'll disappear on you, and there is no telling what kind of mischief they will get into.
THIS IS A HUGE RAVE to everyone who has donated to the family of Kole Ford. It is a blessing to know that there are still good people in this world that care about others and are willing to come together for a family in their time of need. God bless each of you!
