TO THE PEOPLE WRITING letters warning of impending socialism: We would have socialism, all right, if an administration could manage to stifle all dissent. Americans are not going to let that happen.
THE BUSINESSES THAT are overcharging for sales tax are keeping the money. You should refuse to pay it at the register.
IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW much education one has if he or she does not know how to use it. Anyone can graduate from college and not retain anything and not have an ounce of common sense. On-the-job training and years of experience go a long way.
FOR THE PERSON WHO said the people of Graniteville need to move on and stop dwelling on the train wreck: If you only lived in Graniteville, you would know what a real disaster this was. There was a lot of damage done. And, yes, a lot of people have had disasters in their lives, but you should take a short trip to where the wreck was and then maybe you wouldn't make such ignorant comments.
A MORE PRESSING issue for South Carolina and Georgia to address than banning cigarette smoking outdoors is to ban paper mills from emitting their foul odor. It offends a whole bunch more people in an entire city/cities - just one release versus a tiny puff. Cigarette smoke smells like a nice fragrance compared to the paper mill.
SO MILLIONAIRE Slick Charlie says he does not have the monies to pay back restitution? Don't make me laugh. He's making money hand over fist every time his paper runs. His "Georgia Personnel" buys half-page or even whole-page color ads from his newspaper every week. His son-in-law's ANIC pays for one to two ads every single week.
