Aiken section urged to boil water

AIKEN -- In response to the Whiskey Road water main rupture on Friday, the city of Aiken Engineering and Utilities Department has issued a “Boil Water Advisory” as a precaution for the homes affected due to the water main rupture at Whiskey Road and Grace Avenue.

Residents should boil water prior to consumption for the next 24 hours. The residents affected by this rupture who are without power to boil water, should not consume or use water until able to boil prior to consumption, or the 24 hours has expired, according to a news release.
