The Radiothon, held by local radio stations WBBQ and KISS, has been the largest Children’s Miracle Network Hospital fundraiser for the Children’s Medical Center since it started 12 years ago, hospital spokeswoman Denise Parrish said.
Four patients’ families helped raise $5,000 each in the weeks leading up to Radiothon using Facebook and other social media and communication tools, a news release said.
The radio stations broadcast live from the lobby of the medical center from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Dozens of stories about children who were helped by the center were shared during the fundraiser.
