The Consolidation Working Group will still receive a short list of at least six names at its meeting, GHSU spokeswoman Christen Carter said. What names will be on the list is not known yet and the process is still ongoing, she said. The results of the Augusta Chronicle Facebook poll will be provided to the name selection team prior to the meeting. It is likely three finalist names will not be chosen until a meeting in mid-July, Carter said. Those names will go to the University System of Georgia Board of Regents, which will likely choose a name at its August meeting.

The Consolidation Working Group meeting is not open to the public but there will be an update provided later, Carter said.
