Why are you running for re-election? “To keep rural Georgia’s voice. Some of us that’s been there a while and have gotten some influence need to stay there. Half the people in this state live within 3-40 miles of the Capitol, which means that probably half of (House members) represent the metro part of the state. To keep a rural voice at the Capitol, I think you need somebody with experience on how to do things and how things work.”

Why are you running for office? “Both the Republicans and Democrats have been in a slogan fight for as long as we can remember, and that’s got us polarized and paralyzed. So I’ve put together a Web site of evidence-based policy at www.noslogans.org.”
