ATLANTA — Former Georgia congressman Newt Gingrich is leading among primary voters in the state he represented for two decades and Rick Santorum is second in a poll released Friday.

Newt Gingrich was favored by 35 percent of the poll respondents, ahead of Rick Santorum, at 26 percent.

Gingrich, a former speaker of the U.S. House, gets the nod from 35 percent, while the former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania surged into second with 26 percent in the wake of his three primary wins this week in Missouri, Minnesota and Colorado.

Mitt Romney has 16 percent, putting him in third place, ahead of Ron Paul’s 5 percent.

Eighteen percent were undecided when surveyed by phone Thursday evening.

The poll by Rosetta Stone Communications and Landmark Communications questioned 1,475 people who said they were likely to vote in Georgia’s Republican presidential primary March 6 – Super Tuesday. It has a margin of error of 2.6 percent.

“Gingrich leads, and the fight seems for now to have become a battle for second place,” said Mark Rountree, the president of Landmark. “The race remains volatile.”

Although Gingrich has ranked first among Georgia Republicans in polls since native-son Herman Cain ended his campaign, Santorum has lingered in the single digits until his three wins this week.

“Voter preferences continue to be fluid,” said John Garst, the president of Rosetta Stone. “The question is whether Santorum’s surge can hold until Super Tuesday, or whether it’s just reflecting the news week.”

Is there any hope left for

Is there any hope left for the old G.O.P. "establishment" Party ?
Dr.Paul is so far above the rest of the candidates on all counts that favor liberty and good government that this race is, in effect, a "test" of the basic intelligence and patriotism levels of G.O.P. establishment PARTY "primary" voters.

**************** Rum-ney ** Get-rich ** Santa-run ** Dr.Paul
Endless foreign aid........YES.........YES............YES...........NO
Balanced Budget...........NO..........NO.............NO...........YES
Back HARD currency.......NO..........NO.............NO...........YES
End Big Brother FED.......NO..........NO.............NO...........YES
Follow Constitution........NO..........NO.............NO...........YES
Restore Liberty..............NO..........NO.............NO...........YES
Stop bloody Oil wars.......NO..........NO.............NO...........YES
Corporate PAC backed.....YES.........YES............??............NO
Separate Church/State*.. ?? .........?? ..............NO...........YES
*Some Muslim Nations are examples of church & state mix.

Stand with Paul for peace and carry a big stick (military) for defense !
OR:
vote for the other candidates and be assured of more Big Brother style government and bloody oil & religious wars to benefit the rich few and establishment politicians, oil companies, arms makers/dealers, banks/wall street and add even more debt for your great grand children, that survive, to try and pay off.

Now you know why the establishment fears anyone like Dr.Paul !
Now where do YOU stand ?

But TK3, Newt is really

But TK3, Newt is really really good at rhetoric ... Isn't that what it's all about? You're making the mistake of assuming that Gingrich voters are concerned with things that are real. If that were the case, Newt's leadership record would make him a political non-entity.

Speaking of rhetoric, I am

Speaking of rhetoric, I am glad we dont have to listen to Dr. Paul spew out rhetoric... we only have to listen to his internet minions and the '99%' posting their own rhetoric everywhere we go.

Without fail these people programmatically recite the "Ron Paul Facts" like a bunch of mind-controlled zombies. Never do you hear them quote sources or actual documentation. Only that "Dr. Paul is the only candidate who.... [Insert Line here...]

Following the constitution is great but you can follow the constitution and not be an isolationist.

Paulite Quote of the day: "Ron Paul won't force American men and women into being the police force of the world"
...Last i checked, our military was still voluntary.
