Early voting for Ga. primary runoff starts next week

Richmond County voters who want to beat the crowds in the Aug. 10 general primary runoff may vote between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Early voting will be conducted only at the Board of Elections office, Room 104 of the Augusta-Richmond County Municipal Building, 530 Greene St.

In the Republican primary runoff, voters will chose between candidates Nathan Deal and Karen Handel for governor.

Also on the Republican primary runoff ballot are candidates for attorney general, commissioner of insurance, Public Service Commission District 2 and, for some Richmond County voters, a nominee for the 12th Congressional District seat.

For Richmond County Democratic voters, the only choice in the primary runoff is between Gail Buckner and Georganna Sinkfield for secretary of state.
