North Augusta elections under way

Elections for North Augusta City Council continue today until 7 p.m. at the Riverview Park Activities Center.

Mayor Lark Jones is running unopposed for his seat.

Four candidates are running for three available city council seats: incumbents Pat C. Carpenter and Arthur Shealy and political newcomers Fletcher Dickert and David McGhee.

All candidates filed under the Republican Party.

There are no Democrat opponents therefore winners of today’s elections will start their terms in May.
