Jesus triumphed over Satan, and Mickey Mouse roared past Big Bird.

A tally of the write-in names from Richmond County ballots shows 11 voters wanted Jesus for president; he was also tabbed 31 times in other races. Satan got one vote – for the 12th Congressional District.

Mickey Mouse was a favorite write-in candidate, getting 71 votes. Big Bird earned 20 and Spider-Man had nine. Superhero duo Batman and Robin had eight and two, respectively.

Some local media personalities got voter support. WJBF anchorman Brad Means beat radio personality Austin Rhodes two to one in the 12th District race.

Other notables getting votes included past presidents Ronald Reagan, John Adams and Abraham Lincoln. Pope Benedict XVI and reality television star Honey Boo Boo earned a vote each, for president and District 9 commissioner, respectively.
