Advance voting for July primary begins Monday

Advance voting for the 2012 General Primary and Non-Partisan election will begin Monday.

It will continue through July 27 in the Board of Elections Office at 530 Greene St., Room 104, with voting 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. During the week before the primary, hours will be extended until 6 p.m. daily. Voters will need one form of acceptable photo identification.

Additional locations to cast ballots will be open during Advance Voting Week from July 23-27. Voters can cast their ballots at the Board of Elections Main Office; the Henry Brigham Recreation Center at 2463 Golden Camp Road; and the Warren Road Recreation Center at 300 Warren Road. Voting hours are 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. daily.

To vote by mail, submit a written request to the Board of Elections by either mail or fax. The request must contain the voter’s name and address as registered, date of birth, date of election for which the the ballot is being requested, the voter’s party preference, if desired; and the request must be signed. Ballots will be accepted through July 27. Photo identification is not required to vote by mail.

Voters using any of these early-voting methods do not have to provide a reason for voting early.

Acceptable forms of photo identification are a valid Georgia driver’s license (even if expired), a valid state or federal government-issued ID; an employee ID from any branch or entity of the U.S. Government, Georgia, county or any other entity of this state; a valid U.S. passport; a valid U.S. military photo ID; or a valid tribal photo ID. A free voter photo ID card can be obtained from the Board of Elections office or the Georgia Department of Drivers Services.

Republicans Take Advantage of This Convenience

I know Republicans are hard working people so take advantage of advance voting and support our candidates. Mine are Wright McLeod and Freddie Sanders....both good Republicans.
