The former Georgia Congressman headlined an Atlanta fundraiser on Monday for GOP candidates Mike Keown (COW'-en) and Austin Scott.
Keown is challenging Democratic Rep. Sanford Bishop in south Georgia, while Scott is campaigning for the middle Georgia seat held by Rep. Jim Marshall.
Gingrich said he believes voters are fed up with high unemployment, unchecked government spending and large deficits. He predicted that the Republican Party will win between 50 to 80 seats in the House of Representatives and regain the majority.
In 1994, Gingrich led the Republican takeover of Congress that ended four decades of Democratic control.
