Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will sweep into Georgia to headline a rally for the Republican gubernatorial hopeful today, the eve of the runoff election between Handel and former U.S. Rep. Nathan Deal.
Handel and Deal are battling for the GOP nomination for governor and the right to face Democrat Roy Barnes in November.
Palin's endorsement of Handel is widely credited with helping boost the former secretary of state to a first place finish in the Georgia's July 20 primary. The former vice presidential candidate's appearance in the state is designed to whip up enthusiasm among Handel supporters and get them back to the polls.
Deal is set to barnstorm the state on Monday, hitting seven cities from Gainesville to Albany.
