Grovetown to investigate public safety employee

  • Follow Government

The Grovetown City Council held a special meeting Monday to approve the investigation of a city Department of Public Safety employee.

Following an executive session, council members announced they had authorized the expenditure of $1,500 to $3,000 for an outside investigation into allegations of misconduct by the employee.

Mayor George James refused to name the employee before the investigation.

I am surprised that Grovetown
Unpublished

I am surprised that Grovetown PD are not notifying the GBI. That would be best and would show the Chief as being far and impartial.

The GBI have shown that they

The GBI have shown that they cannot reach a conclusion investigating a football game fight where a coach got bashed with a helmet causing broken facial bones. Why waste your time with the GBI?

LL, I understand your point
Unpublished

LL, I understand your point and you are partially correct. However, an outside agency NEEDS to look into this matter, not a "PI". It would be a waste of city funds. BTW, just how qualified is this, "PI"? I live in Grovetown and if the public safety director (Or others within) need to be investigated, I would want it done correctly and legally....
