An Evans woman won a multimillion-dollar payout last week playing the Georgia Lottery.

Dianne Reid picked the winning numbers – 21, 28, 32, 39, 41 and 42 – in the Decades of Dollars drawing held March 5. She won $250,000 a year for 30 years, totaling $7.5 million. Reid bought the tickets from a Circle K store in Evans.

“We plan to buy our granddaughter a new car for her 18th birthday,” Reid said in a news release.

Last year, Reid’s husband, William Perkins, won $10,000 playing the same game.

“We’ve been buying them since the game started,” Reid said of Decades of Dollars tickets.

It was Perkins who realized that Reid had hit the jackpot when he checked the drawing results.

“When my husband woke me up at 8 a.m., I was stunned,” Reid said.

I am sure that they know my cousin's uncle's grandpa's mother's brother's sister, which has to make us kin somewhere down the line.
