  • Follow Government

NORTH AUGUSTA - City council unanimously approved a resolution Monday to begin renovations soon on the old Municipal Building on East Buena Vista Avenue.

The $562,000 project was awarded to First Class Construction LLC, based in Lexington. It won with a bid of $507,802. The construction date was not set, but the project should be completed within 90 days of its start, officials say.

Renovations will be funded from $262,000 set aside in the 2010 budget from the Capital Projects Fund, with an additional $300,000 from unreserved funds in the Capital Projects Fund.

The additional $54,198 will be used for architectural and engineering services, cabling and storage of existing furniture in the old Municipal Building during renovation, according to city officials.
