The Watson-Brown Foundation Inc. is accepting applications for its 2014-15 scholarship awards, which help current and incoming college students with financial need or academic merit.

The foundation will award 200 renewable scholarships worth $3,000 and $5,000 to high school seniors and current college undergraduates from certain counties in Georgia and South Carolina.

Students must have a 3.0 grade-point average to apply for the scholarship and to renew it throughout college.

The foundation was established in 1970 and gives more than $6 million annually. It supports 850 students at 130 colleges and universities across the country.

Students must be from one of the following Georgia counties to be eligible: Burke, Columbia, Elbert, Glascock, Hart, Jefferson, Lincoln, McDuffie, Richmond, Taliaferro, Warren or Wilkes, or from the South Carolina counties of Aiken, Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenville, McCormick and Spartanburg.
