Hate Crime Prevention Forum canceled

A Hate Crime Prevention Forum scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at Paine College has been canceled because of the U.S. government shutdown, the college reported Wednesday.

The forum was an effort by the U.S. Department of Justice Community Relations Service, the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of Georgia, the FBI, the district attorney’s office of the Augusta Judicial Circuit, the Richmond County’s Sheriff’s Office, and the city of Augusta to educate the public about the Hate Crime Prevention Act.
