Richmond County schools will resume classes Thursday, while Aiken County schools return on Jan. 7 and Columbia County classes begin Jan. 8.
In Columbia County, Jan. 7 will serve as a professional learning day for teachers and a holiday for students. Wednesday is also the first of about six furlough days scheduled for the Richmond County school system this semester.
