More than 400 students are expected to graduate in Augusta State University’s final commencement ceremony on Dec. 20.

Judy Woodruff, a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County who served as an anchor and senior correspondent for CNN for 12 years, will deliver the commencement address during the 2 p.m. ceremony at Christenberry Fieldhouse. Woodruff now regularly co-anchors the newly redesigned PBS NewsHour.

The graduation will be ASU’s last before its consolidation with Georgia Health Sciences University in January.

Woodruff is also a founding co-chairwoman of the International Women’s Media Foundation, serves on the boards of the Freedom Forum, the Newseum and the Urban Institute. She serves as a member of The Knight Foundation Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics and the board of the National Museum of American History.

She has also been the recipient of the Cine Lifetime Achievement Award, a Duke Distinguished Alumni award, the Edward R. Murrow Lifetime Achievement Award in Broadcast Journalism/Television and the University of Southern California Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism, among other honors.

Guess what, folks! Judy is from Augusta, graduated from Richmond, simply brilliant, went to Duke, and a class act as good as it gets!

Have a good time home, Judy! You're special.

Agree with Dixieman!! LOL!

Gretchen, Martha or Megyn would do! You also would expect their comments to be on the "right" side and not the wrong.
