Georgia Health Sciences University President Ricardo Azziz and Save the A members Nick Evans and Barry Storey will hold a joint press conference at 11:30 a.m. to provide an update on the naming and branding of the new university being created through the consolidation of GHSU and ASU.
The press conference will be held in the lobby of the GHS Children’s Medical Center.

Azziz was the one shoving this down our throats, and now he wants to be a part of the conversation on a name compromise? Interesting.

If they do indeed choose the horrid Georgia Regents University at Augusta, it could set off a flood of copycat requests: Georgia Regents University at Carrollton; Georgia Regents University at Columbus; Georgia Regents University at Americus; Georgia Regents University at Valdosta; Georgia Regents University at, well, you get the picture. It doesn't make sense to have only one. The "at" implies there are more Regents universities than one.

It must be a tough pill to swallow for Azziz and the regents to add Augusta to the name.
I am betting that the save the A people were advised of unannounced increased dollars that would be forthcoming to Augusta and to take this crumb of compromise. And when the economy tanks again...........???
