A ceremony Tuesday will celebrate the Augusta State University library’s 50th year as a federal depository library.

As a depository, the Reese Library is open to the public to explore publications, journals, electronic resources, microfiche and microfilm on hundreds of thousands of topics free of charge from the federal government.

The library will celebrate its benchmark anniversary throughout the month with a ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on the second floor of the library. A reception and tour of the library will follow.

Mary Alice Baish, the assistant public printer and superintendent of documents in the U.S. Government Printing Office, will be the keynote speaker at the ceremony.
