Engineering scholarships awarded

Two local high school students received scholarships during the National Society of Black Engineers’ Augusta Alumni Chapter meeting May 19.

The awards were presented to Wesley Coleman of Midland Valley High School and Tariq Cannonier of A.R. Johnson Magnet School by an employee of Savannah River Remediation, a Savannah River Site contractor.

Too bad we don't see the positive things our youth are doing more often...

The paper tries real hard to keep a certain demographic intrested, and chooses to report on anything negative...

Not true, C-man.

The negative reality is such a target-rich option for the news outlets, regardless of "the demographic", while positive events such as this are far fewer and much more widely spaced out.
