The student, who is in special education, was ordered to receive home-based services for the remainder of the 2011-12 year and is assigned to Tubman’s alternative program for the 2012-13 term.
The following findings are from tribunal hearings April 26. Students were given the option of attending the alternative program in lieu of long-term suspension unless otherwise noted:
• An Academy of Richmond County student used profanity with a teacher and pushed and pulled the teacher to prevent him from disciplining another student April 13. The student was suspended for the remainder of the year and the entire 2012-13 year.
• A Tubman Education Center student used profanity with students and teachers and made obscene gestures toward another student April 16. The student, who is in special education, received home-based services for the rest of the term and is assigned to attend Tubman Education Center for the first semester of the 2012-13 year.
