The accident was reported about 4 p.m., according to Richmond County dispatch.

Jimmie Wiley, the district’s transportation director, said one child was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital after complaining of discomfort, and the driver of a red Nissan Altima was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The other children were OK, Svehla said.

Another school bus took the children home.

Svehla said the accident happened in the 100 block of Windsor Spring Road. He added that the car driver was found to be at fault.
