ATLANTA -- Installation of a new magnetic-resonance imaging, or MRI, equipment at Medical College of Georgia Hospital and Clinics won approval Tuesday from the Real Estate Committee of the Board of Regents.

MCG will fund the $8 million project from internal funds. Half will go toward renovations of the Adult Medical Center’s critical-care wing on the second floor, and half toward replacing the existing MRI, which is so old it no longer works.
