Sixteen local students receive CSRA College Night scholarships

Sixteen local high school students were awarded $1,000 scholarships during this year’s CSRA College Night, which brought more than 8,000 students to James Brown Arena.

Scholarship winners were:

• Ashley Lawrence, Strom Thurmond High School

• Airrick Jones, T. W. Josey High School

• Adam Daniel Martin, Silver Bluff High School

• Elise Milford, Thomson High School

• Erin Garrett, Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School

• Breanna Fields, A.R. Johnson Magnet High School

• Taylor Griffin, Aiken High School

• Megan Dixon, Strom Thurmond High School

• Sha’vona Dent, Glenn Hills High School

• Kaitlynn Autery, Aiken High School

• Khadeja Dubose, Laney High School

• Imanee McCay Meadows, Richmond Academy

• Samatha Campbell, Fox Creek High School

• Cameron Isabel, Greenbrier High School

• Kylie Elaine Amos, North Augusta High School

• Jasmine Herrington, Hephzibah High School

CSRA College Night, which included representatives from 160 schools this year, is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, SRP Federal Credit Union and Clear Channel Radio/Power107; in partnership with WSI-SRS Team, Westminster Schools of Augusta, Aiken County Public Schools and Aiken Preparatory Day School.

Congratulations to all the students for their success! Best of luck in your senior year and in your future endeavors. Hopefully the AC and other media sources will eventually start highlighting more positive kids like you instead of giving attention to those who make bad choices.
