Head of Augusta Prep to move to Marietta

  • Follow Education

Jack Hall, the head of schools at Augusta Preparatory Day School, will leave in June to become headmaster at The Walker School in Marietta, Ga.

The current headmaster at The Walker School, a private school similar to Augusta Prep but about twice its size, plans to retire at the end of the school year.

Both Hall and his wife, Cathy, a middle school English teacher at Augusta Prep, are from the Atlanta area.

Cathy Hall and daughter Alice, a junior, will remain for one more school year.

"She started here in kindergarten and loves it here," Jack Hall said. She wouldn't want to graduate from anyplace else."

A search committee to replace him has been formed by the school's board of directors.

Best wishes to him; we will

Best wishes to him; we will miss him in the CSRA. Glad his daughter will be staying to finish her education here.
Westminster has a great new headmaster, formerly at schools in Minnesota and Africa, who is doing amazing things there. WSA is growing by leaps and bounds and has some exciting new academic and athletic programs. Prep will be lucky to get anyone even close to him.

My daughter attended another

My daughter attended another school but ran track and cross country at the Prep facilities. Over the years, the athletic facilities continued to improve. I am also sure that Mr. Hall watched the academics closely too. Good luck to him and his family on their new venture.

Can someone tell me the girls track and cc coaches name? He was a delight to compete against and work with. We even saw him at college meets with the Prep folks and he always made it a point to encourage my daughter.
