ATLANTA – An administrative law judge recommended today that Gov. Sonny Perdue remove three Warren County school board members because their actions jeopardized accreditation of the rural county’s school system.
Administrative Law Judge John B. Gatto released documents advising that Clara B. Roberts, Cecil Brown and Dr. Charles Culver be removed.
It is uncertain when Perdue might act on the finding.
“He wants to review the recommendation of the judge before making a decision,” spokeswoman Michelle Parks said.
Perdue removed four members of Clayton County's school board in 2008 after a similar hearing. The suburban Atlanta district lost its accreditation for nine months over its squabbling, ineffective school board.
Gatto heard four days of testimony from witnesses, including Roberts, Brown and Culver. Legal action was brought against them by a group of nine Warren County residents.
Maybe now we can put this behind us and move forward.
Agreed aninsider. Its sad what these three are trying to do to the students and city of Warrenton. Lets pray they are stopped. Then a law should be passed to prevent this from happening again.
The actions of these 3 people are sickening. They voted themselves all expenses paid attorney fees just a week ago. These 3 people have taken down the school system for their own agendas and egos. Please Gov. Perdue, do the right thing and send these people packing in disgrace. The children of Warren Co. deserve a chance for a good education & higher education. Public beware, this could happen in your school system if you DON'T get involved. Just because these people get voted on the school board does not mean they are qualified to serve. They spend our money. You know your property tax money. They have the power to increase your property taxes. And they do make decisions that directly effect your childrens future. Get involved now.
